Our Story
Dowd Shearing is proudly run by Quinn and Uri — whom each have more than 25 years experience in the shearing industry, working across Australia, New Zealand, UK and Italy.
“After five years in Kojonup, we settled in Katanning, and eight years later we’re still here. The community, the facilities and the strong demand for shearing professionals is what finalised us staying.

Our Roles
Quinn
Shearing in the team, Shed Operations, and Work Scheduling
Quinn Shears in the team and oversees all daily shed operations. He communicates directly with farmers, schedules upcoming work and ensures the team maintains a consistently high standard of work. If anything arises during the work day, Quinn is always on site to address any emerging challenges.
Uri
Business Management and Staff Co-ordination
Uri is a qualified wool classer, however she does not work in the team and instead manages staffing, bookwork and the business operations. She regularly monitors the wool markets and while she has every confidence in the shed staff, when Uri visists the team, her focus is clip preparation and wool room operations.
